1-05-2022 18:30 – Thats it guys! we are officially finished with the competition and we have crowned are champions in both the mens and womens Surf-freestyle and Surf-Slalom disiplines. Hallelujah!!!

1-05-2022 18:04 – We have now finished with the Surf-Slalom and what a show down we had! Titouan was back with vengeance after losing to Camille in the last races of day 5. He steamed round the downwind course like a freight train, leaving a large lacuna between him and his other competitors. It appears that the downwind race course today was to the advantage of Titouan and his high speed foil setup looked to give him extra gear in this more downwind oriented race track. Final standings are as follows:
1-05-2022- 16: 21 – We are now in elimination round 2 of the mens and we currently have semi final number 2 on the water.
1-05-2022- 13:40 – We just finished round one of the womens Surf- Slalom elimination and men’s elimination. Tituoan and Nia took first place.
1-05-2022- 13:36 – We are now going to switch to slalom as the wind is pumping here in Leucate!
1-05-2022- 13:30 – We just finished the finals of the GWA Winfoiling Surf-Freestyle competition in Leucate and Balz Muller is offically the Surf Freestyle Champion!!!
1-05-2022- 13:00 – Finals are coming up in a minute!! Head down to the beach to watch this showdown between Balz and Gollito!
1-05-2022- 12:52 – in the mini finals we currently have Cappuzzo vs Camille! In the finals will be Balz Muller and the Venezulian rider Gollito Estredo.
1-05-2022- 12:33 – We just finished semi final number one and Balz Muller taking out the french rider Camille Bouyer! it was a close heat but Muller was riding away a lot more smoothly on those landings. We are now on to semi final number two with Cappuzzo vs Estredo
1-05-2022- 11:45 – We are now into round 5 and things are getting crazy. The level is very high with all the guys throwing backflips and frontflips consistently!
1-05-2022- 11:45 – Stefan Spiessberger looked stylish and consistent in his heat taking the win over Xavier Corr with a huge frontside 720. Italian stallion Cappuzzo was also going strong and had a big heat score of 30.53. But the biggest upset of the competition just went down, with new kid on the block Christopher Macdonald taking out current World Champion Titouan Galea! The men were matching each other trick for trick but Macdonald just had that extra height and flare!
Meanwhile in the media box, Jo Ciastula our commentator has whipped out the salmon shorts as things are beginning to heat up!
1-05-2022- 11:04 – We just had an awesome heat with Stefan Spiessberger vs Xavier Corr! Stefan was throwing down some huge moves landing a powerful backside 7! Stefan took the heat win with a score of 32.53
1-05-2022 10: 25 – We started the first heat with Stefan Spiessberger and Xavier Corr but it has now been abandoned due to marginal conditions. Riders are now on standby!
1-05-2022 – 10:11 – The wind conditions are improving, looks like we will have a FPS at 10:30 with heat 53 of the mens.
1-05-2022 – 08:00 – Good morning guys! It is the last day at GWA Wingfoil World Cup in Leucate.We will be starting with round 4 heat 53. The wind is slowly increasing and we are looking forward to a day of full on action!

31-04- 2022 – 20:00 – The mens day finally closed, literally at the final light of the day, having made it to mid way through round 4. We will be continuing with the mens’ heats tomorrow as the forecast is looking promising!
31-04- 2022 19:20 – We are flying through the heats today having finished round 3 of the mens and we will be shortly going into round 4!
31-04- 2022 18:20 – We have our results from the womens finals and Nia Suardiaz is officially the winner of the GWA Wingfoil Slalom Freestyle disipline!!!!

31-04- 2022 18:00 – We just finished the womens’ grand final with Nia and Paula and it was a very tight between these two talented females. They were both throwing frontside and backside 360s. The results will be announced in a minute but it is too tight to call for the moment. Now we have a very interesting mens heat coming up with Balz Muller and Riccado Zorzi.
31-04- 2022 17:35 – We just finished heat 33 of the mens which Maxime Won. Womens’ Mini final is on now to be followed by final. Check the ladders and results by scrolling down this page.
31-04- 2022 17:30 – We just finished the semi finals of the women and Nia smashed her heat landing all her manouvers. She is now through to the finals against Paula Novotna!
31-04- 2022 17:00 – Round 2 mens complete and women. Focus will now be on women’s semi final. Flora Artzner vs Paula Novotna and Fiona Wylde vs Nia Suardiaz.
30- 04- 2022 15:54 – So we are into round 2 of the mens heat and we have Fabi MUHMENTHALER, Jefferey Spencer, Clement Roseyro and Liam Dunkerbeck all advancing through to round 3. We are now running heat 28 Hugo Marin vs Bastien Escofet.
30- 04 -2022 15:00 – Thanks to everyone who has been tuning in to the live ticker! The tunes are firing and Jo has already whipped out the ‘salmon shorts’ (definently not pink). Head down to the Mondial du Vent event to listen to some pumping electro music and mesmerise over Commentator jo’s and Videographer juliens sun fried faces.
30- 04 2022 14:51 In womens’ round one we had Surf -Slalom winner Flora Artzner vs Kylie Belloeuvre and Orane Ceris all the way from New Caledonia! Flora was throwing down some big maneuvers really tweaking out the raleys. The girls were really pushing the frontside 360s but unfortunately couldn’t stick the landings. Flora took the win in this heat with a total score of 13.73.
In heat number two of the womens we had Paula Novotna vs Fiona Wylde and upcoming talent Nia Suardiaz vs Palau Novotna started the heat with all guns firing, throwing a huge raley. But, this only spurred the other riders on as Nia answered back with an even bigger railey. Paula attempted a few frontside 360s but she could make the landings. Whereas Nia was really starting to pull things together. She landed a powerful frontside 360 and a toeside frontside 360. Nia took the win in this heat defeating some of the top riders and gaining the highest score of the womens’ competition so far at 22.07.
30- 04 -2022 13:30 – Round one of the mens is done and we will start with the womens in 5- 10 minutes!
30-04-2022- 13:14 – We just finished Heat 13 round one of the mens! In this heat we had Tarifan Local Fabi Muhmenthaler vs Jose Estredo vs Zaynn Schweitzer. Zaynn was throwing some big moves but not connecting those landings too well. 9 x PWA freestyle world champion showed his experience on the water taking the win in this. He landed a nice front side 360
30-04-2022- 12:22 – We are upto heat number 9 now and we have Tarifa winner Riccado Zorzi vs Stefan Spiessberger vs Carlos Martins. Stefan had a great heat tweaking out all his tricks. Zorzi managed to throw down a few tricks but seemed to be struggling with the lighter conditions. Spiessberger took the win in this heat showing that style is rewarded well in the Surf-Freestyle disipline.
30-04-2022- 11:07 – Crowds are looking too small here in Leucate at the Mondial Du Vent so if you are in the area come down to the beach and check out all these locos throwing down some sick moves!
30-04-2022- 11:07 – We are now onto heat number 5 with Jeremy Burlando who is second on the overall GKA Kite World Tour! He is up against Clement and C. Nonnot from France! Jeremy Burlando was throwing down some huge moves in this heat with a big backflip and two big frontroll attempts. Clement was trying to replicate Burlando’s powerful backflip but could not make the full rotation. Burlando took the win in this heat with a score of 23.46.
30-04-2022- 10:30 – Things have finally kicked off here today and we just had the first heat in the mens’ Surf-Freestyle! We had Kitesurf freestyle champion Maxime Chabloz taking the win in the first heat!
30-04-2022- 10:00 – The wind is increasing here in Leucate and at the moment we have about 12-17 knots. It is nearly enough to start the competition! Stay tuned as the action will begin shortly.
30-04-2022- 8:00 – Good morning ladies and gents! The sun is starting to peak through and we have just finished the skippers meeting. There is a FPS at 8:30 am but the wind is looking light for now. Freestyle is the name of the game today so hopefully the conditions will deliver!
29-04-2022- 19:08 – We have finished the mens final round which Camille Bouyer managed to win! Riders are now released for today and we have the results for the end of the day!

29-04-2022- 18:07 – Unfortunatley we had to abandon the finals as the riders did not have enough wind. FPS 18:30.
29-04-2022- 18:00 – Final heat of the mens is coming up now! This will decide who will be Surf-Slalom Wingfoil King in Leucate.
29-04-2022- 17:30 – Mens semi Final number two is about to commence! Riccardo Zorzi won the first semi final heats and we are a
29-04-2022- 17:00: The competition is still going strong ladies and gents! We have finished women’s round 5 and Flora Artzner took the win in this heat! She is now leading in the womens fleet. We are now running the Men’s round 4. Cappuzzo is looking very stoked as he has just come off the water after winning his first heat! P.s check out his cute dog Nacho!
29-04-2022- 16:11 – We have just finished round 3 and Camille Bouyer has won the finals! He led the whole way with Titouan and Cappuzzo close by. This is the first elimination round that Titouan has lost so things are beginning to get tight between the finalists!
29-04-2022- 15:23 – The wind is back and firing again! Riders are on the water now and we just had Camille Bouyer win round 3 heat 4 of the Surf-Slalom, being the first person to beat Titouan!
29-04-2022- 15:11 There is a slight breeze now so we are restarting with elimination round 3 heat 4 of the mens.
29-04-2022- 15:00 Hola Chica’s y Chico’s, there is a very light breeze filling in here in Leucate so we might be able to put these abs to work! NPS 15:00
29-04-2022- 13:35 – Quick update here from Leucate. The sun is still shining but we are lacking wind! Still, you know what they say… suns out abs out, unfortunatley we are not seeing too many chicas. So girls come join the tour, before we are overwhelmed with abs.
29-04-2022- 12:35 – We are currently on hold as we are waiting for the wind to pick up for suitable conditions to start the races again. NPS is at 1:15pm
29-04-2022- 11:15 – We are now in Heat number 3 of the mens Elimination round 4. The race course has been altered slighty to mix things up and challenge the riders. Remember to tune in to our Instagram stories.
29-04-2022- 10:15 – In the mens’ final elimination round 2 we had Mathis Ghio leading throughout the whole race but at the final turn the pressure got to Mathis and he crashed at the critical moment. This gave Titouan the oppertunity he needed to take first place once again.
29-04-2022- 9:15 – 9:45 We have just finished the Semi Finals of the men’s Elimination round 2. In the first round we had the Italian Alessandro Jose Tomasi taking the win in the first and in the second Semi Final we had the unstoppable Titouan Galea taking the win. In womens round 3 both Kylie and Paula had a turbulent start which gave the firing Frenchie Flora Artzner the opportunity she needed to take the lead.
29-04-2022- 9:15 – We have finished round 2 of the Womens’ and the Chzech charger Paula Novotna had a flawless race taking 1st place. We are now on to the mens round 2 heat 3 and Hendrick Lopez is currently leading the pack in this heat.
29-04-2022- 8:35 – The mens finals of the first elimination round has just finished and it was the Titouan Galea who came out victorious. Followed closely behind was the speedy Italian Francesco Capuzzo. We are now running the second round of the womens’ Surf- Slalom.
29-04-2022- 8:15 – We just had the Semi Finals of the mens Surf-Slalom and Liam Dunkerbeck was on fire! He took the win in the first heat of the mens semi final with Francesco Capuzzo followed closely behind. In the second heat of the Semi Finals we had reigning champion Titouan Galea taking first place with a flawless race. Up next we will be running the men’s final of the first elimination round!
29-04-2022- 7:30 – We are storming through these heats this morning. We had Fiona Whylde from the USA winning the first heat of the womens. Then in the mens first heats we had Liam Dunkerbeck taking the win and in the second heat we had Francesco Capuzzo. There were a few false starts and some epic crashes from riders, but in general everything is running very smoothly!
29-04-2022- 6:30 – Good morning from windy Leucate!! Finally we have been blessed with a breeze and riders are already out on the water preparing themselves for their heats. We will be starting with the womens’ heats at 7am. Stay tuned in to the liveticker and Instagram stories. as the action will be commencing very soon.

28-04-2022 17:30 – Hello from windless Leucate! The wind has not been on our side today but there will be a riders briefing at 6pm tonight to discuss what the plan is for tomorrow morning. There are amber arrors forecast so fingers crossed for some action tomorrow!
28-04-2022 11:30 – Riders have been put on hold for the moment as the wind is too light right now. Nevertheless, we have a solid forecast for tomorrow so there will be a riders breifing at 6pm tonight with a FPS at 6am on friday morning. The wind may pick up this afternoon though so all riders must be prepared to start at any time!
28-04-2022 08:50 – Good morning from cloudy Leucate! The wind is still looking very light for today but we are hoping it may fill in this afternoon. If not we have a solid forecast for tomorrow. DAY 3 OF THE GWA WINGFOIL WORLD CUP IN LEUCATE
27-04-2022 18:00 – Good afternoon from the GWA Wingfoil World Cup in France. Unfortunantly the wind did not make an appearence today but we did have another great surf tow in session and many attempted backflips from the riders. We are really keeping our fingers crossed for tomorrow for wind but the forecast is looking light once again. Riders have been released for the day but make sure to tune in tomorrow and stay up to date with the action on our Instagram stories.
A little update here from Leucate. Riders have just finished having luch, the wind is still not filling in but we are going to run a surf foil tow-in session from 2:30 to 4:30 pm Also if you want to grab an autograph from one of the top riders then head over to La Franqui, they will be there from 3:45 to 4:30pm.
27-04-2022 10:30 – Good Morning from the GWA Wingfoil World Cup in France! It is another sunny bright day in Leucate and riders are eager to get out on the water. The wind is looking light for today but we may get lucky with thermal winds this afternoon so the riders are on standby for now. Stay up today will all todays action over on our Instagram stories.
DAY 2 OF THE GWA WINGFOIL WORLD CUP IN LEUCATE
26-04-2022 18:00 – Thats a wrap for today. We had some good action on the water with the tow in surf-foil sessions but unfortunetley we did not have enough wind to run the WingFoil competition. However, we have high hopes for the rest of the week as the wind looks promising! 26-04-2022 17:00 – The event is currently on hold for the riders as the wind does not seem to be filling in. However, the competitors are making the most out of blue skies and running some tow in surf- foil sessions for the many specatators.
26-04-2022 15:00 – The sun is still shining here in Leucate and the onshore wind is beginning to build. The Judges and the riders have headed down to the beach to test out the conditions. Whilst the wind is still very light, there is a possibility that the competition could commence today.
26-04-2022 14:00 – A quick update from the event here in Leucate. We have taken full advantage of the no wind conditions and decided to run some interviews with some of the new faces on the tour. We will also be running a tow in surf- foil session this afternoon so that all the riders can get out on the water and enjoy the sunny weather here in Leucate!
26-04-2022 10:30 – First post of the day from here in Leucate and the first riders briefing of the season is underway. There’s lots to discuss with so many new riders – this is the biggest GWA event so far with 80 registered riders – and with such progression seen in the off season, there’s lots to run through with the crew. Wind conditions look light for the moment, so this gives the riders and crew plenty of time to work as a unit to push the top level of the sport in the best way possible over the coming days!

25-04-2022 15:00 Welcome to the official event page of the first World Cup event of the GWA Wingfoil World Tour 2022, hosted at Mondial du Vent held in Leucate, France. We have record number of registered riders at 80 (70 men / 10 women), who will compete in: Surf-Freestyle and Surf-Slalom. Get ready for an action-packed week celebrating the 25th annivesary of the Mondial du Vent.
Today is registration day for the riders and tomorrow is the first possible start for the event. Come back to this event page for live heat ladders, videos and photos of the day and all the regular liveticker updates.
