Judging Criteria: 6 Tricks, 10 Waves, and two from each will count towards the total.

Day 4 – Friday 24th November 2023 (GMT-3)

15:45 – That’s 2023 finished with all winners crowned here in Brazil! It is time to rest up and be back in 2024 with more thrilling action 

15:00 – Oscar Leclair and Nia Suardiaz take the event wins here in Cauipe

14:50 – FRANCESCO CAPPUZZO IS WORLD CHAMPION

Cappuzzo claims the world title after a battled day of racing

13:00 – Yannik Holste and Nia Suardiaz take the Elimination four wins

11:07 – Oscar Leclair takes yet another bullet. The Frenchman is on fire with Cappuzzo again chasing in second

09:50 – Nia Suardiaz takes her second bullet, winning elimination number 2

09:35 – Oscar Leclair takes the second elimination with his first bullet 

09:00 – We’re underway completing yesterday’s elimination 2. Julian Rattotti and Nia Suardiaz were the two riders who won elimination 1. 

08:15 – Final day of FreeFly Slalom here in Brazil. We’ll be crowning our event and world champions by the end of the day, so stay tuned as the skipper’s meeting is currently underway with a first possible start very shortly. 

Day 3 – Thursday 23rd November 2023 (GMT-3)

17:40 – That’s a wrap for day 3 and tomorrow will be the final day where we will crown event champions in the FREEFLY division. 

16:20 – The first elimination for the men goes to Julian Rattotti. 

15:00 – Men’s Free-Fly Slalom has now started!

Elimination 1 is underway

13:20 – We have the first possible start at 13:30 for FreeFly-Slalom to start

11:30 – It’s time to get underway with Slalom action as we move over to the lagoon.

08:52 – It’s quarter-final time for the women!

08:30 – Here on day 3 we’ve just kicked things off with the Women’s Surf-Freestyle. Today we’ll crown our event champion in this division so keep up to date with our live ticker for all the results!

Day 2 – Wednesday 22nd November 2023 (GMT-3)

17:20 – A fantastic day of action comes to a close with Malo Guenole taking the last Surf-Freestyle win of the season. Join us tomorrow when we return to get underway with the women. 

16:30 – We’re going to get a few rounds in before sunset on the women’s side. 

15:43 – Malo Guenole takes the win here in Brazil, beating Macdonald by less than a single point.

15:25 – Bastien Escofet beats Clement Hamon to take third place here in Brazil! 

14:45 – Chris Macdonal will face his main rival, Malo in the grand finale

14:15 – Malo Guenole waits ashore to see who’ll be joining him in the grand finale. Chris Macdonald or Bastien Escofet

13:50 – Bastien Escofet and Christopher Macdonald become the last two riders to meet in the semi-finals

13:18 – Malo Guenole and Clement Hamon will now meet each other in the semis

12:58 – Christopher Macdonald and Francesco Cappuzzo get the final two spots for the quarter-finals.

12:15 – The second upset of the day goes Axel Gerard, who takes a bitter loss against Brazilian Kauli Seadi

12:00 – Bastien Escofet joins his teammate, Malo Guenole in the quarter-finals. 

11:30 – Malo Guenole once again throws down the highest combined heat score so far today. His 30.83 was more than enough to book himself in the quarters. 

11:11 – Balz Muller becomes the next rider to advance further in the competition.

Round 5 continues on!

11:00 – First upset sees Alan Fedit be knocked out by newcomer Aleksanda Archer. 

10:46 – Clement Hamon is the first rider to make the quarter-finals. 

10:30 – We’re progressing now with Round 5, where from now on the losers will exit the competition. 

09:56 – AP FLAG is up due to a floating buoy. We’ll resume competition once it’s back in place. 

09:36 – Conditions here are allowing riders to really use this format to their advantage. Progressive kickers are showing some big freestyle moves, whilst the waves themselves aren’t breaking too early, allowing riders to really showcase surfing elements. 

09:00 – It’s time to get this show on the road. The first heat of the day is ON!

08:30 – Welcome to Day 2 of the final GWA event this year. We’ll be kicking things back off with Men’s Surf-Freestyle. Riders are ready, the wind is here and the first possible start is 08:50.

Day 1 – Tuesday 21st November 2023 (GMT-3)

17:15 – That’s a wrap for day 1! We’ll be back with more action tomorrow.

16:50 – We now go into the last heat of the day! Heat number 20

16:05 – We now push onto Round 4.

16:00 – Chris Macdonald makes his way into Round 5

15:35 – Conditions here are changing with the tide now going lower. The bigger set waves are slowly disappearing however the wind is still on and we’ll continue pushing on with the competition.

15:30 – Youngster Noe Cuyala books himself a place in Round 5

14:50 – Bastien Escofet joins his teammate, Malo Guenole in Round 5 after another convincing victory

14:35 – Malo Guenole throws down the biggest overall heat score of the day, scoring a big 31.63 in his Round 3 heat.

14:15 – We’re seeing all the heavy hitters come to play now! 23.43 was scored by Alan Fedit. Currently on the water we have Balz Muller!

13:30 – The winner of round 3 will advance straight to Round5, whereas the losers will have to battle it out in Round 4

13:10 – Round 3 is ON!

12:50 – Round 1 has finished! We’ll now enter a 15-minute break before jumping straight to round 3

12:15 – It’s important to remember, NO athletes get eliminated just yet if they lose they still have. Chance to fight it out in rounds 3 and 4. 

12:10 – Heats 1 & 2 from Round 1 are finished. We now have two heats to go until we begin with Round 2

11:30 – The plan is to start with the Men’s Surf-Freestyle! Heat number 1 of Round 1 has just headed out onto the water!

11:15 – Skipers meeting has just finished. The next possible start is 11:30

10:14 – DAY 1 here for the final GWA stop of the year! Riders registration has just finished and we’re just about to get underway with the Skippers meeting. The first possible start remains at 11:00!
