New destinations and three world titles up for grabs in 2027

  • Surf-Freestyle takes centre-stage in wingfoil calendar with eight stops

  • FreeFly-Slalom set for four stops as Canaries kick off the action

The GWA Wingfoil World Tour is set for an exciting 2027 season, with the emphasis firmly on the fast-evolving Surf-Freestyle discipline. It is scheduled to feature eight World Cup events around the world, including new stops in Mexico and Portugal.

FreeFly-Slalom also gets a strong roster of four events, with the world’s leading racers set to battle for the season’s honours across a packed international calendar.

The fan-favourite Wave discipline will again have a one-stop World Championship, heading to Sal in Cape Verde in February.

Historic Mondial du Vent

The Surf-Freestyle season gets under way in April at the historic Mondial du Vent event in Leucate, France, before heading to Mexico for the first of three new or returning challenges on the calendar.

Nuevo Nayarit, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, hosts the Wingfoil World Tour in mid-May, followed by Tarifa, Spain, in June, as the world’s best riders look to establish an early advantage in the title race.

The tour moves into a busy July schedule in the Canary Islands.  Gran Canaria opens the action, followed by Fuerteventura, where Surf-Freestyle and FreeFly-Slalom will share the spotlight at both events.

Portugal’s tour debut

The new destination of Viana do Castelo, Portugal, plays host to the next round of the Surf-Freestyle title fight in early September.  After the European events conclude, the tour heads to Brazil in October and November for another round of Surf-Freestyle and FreeFly-Slalom competitions.

The final stop of the year in another fresh location of La Ventana, Mexico, will bring both Surf-Freestyle and FreeFly-Slalom together again, with the season’s closing battles set to decide the honours.

With eight Surf-Freestyle events, four FreeFly-Slalom stops and a stand-alone World Championship in Wave, the 2027 GWA Wingfoil World Tour promises a year of intense competition, new destinations and world titles on the line.
