Wingfoiling is a fast-growing watersport. The competitive wingfoiling scene is expanding rapidly.Events are popping up at every level, from national competitions to the elite World Tour, with Continental championships sitting in between.
The Wingfoil Youth World Championships offer young athletes a pathway to the senior World Tour.
On this page we outline the opportunities in the four World Sailing-sanctioned expression disciplines: Surf-Freestyle, FreeFly-Slalom, Wave and Big Air, in the various tiers of events staged worldwide.

The Surf-Freestyle discipline includes the expression format where competitors surf waves or swells and perform air tricks using the given water conditions.

The FreeFly-Slalom discipline is a competition format with a start and finish line, focusing on the FreeFly sections. Competitors must pump, glide or surf without the power of the wing in the FreeFly sections, combining those skills with technical Slalom elements.
